Water Quality Test Instruments
Conductivity Meters, TDS Meters, EC Meters
Pure water will not have the ability to conduct electricity. (Conductivity) But most of the water we find in daily life is not pure water. The solution is formed by the dissolution of the particles into charged particles. The positive charge (+) and the negative charge (-), which these charged water can lead to electricity. To measure the conductivity of water using a standard conductivity measuring device. It measures the amount of electricity flowing through the water at a distance of 1 centimeters, where the conductivity is measured in microns per centimeter. (microSiemens per cm, μS/cm). If the solution has a great electrical conductivity Electricity will flow through it.
Electrical Conductivity (EC) Meters sensors are 3 types
-
Types 1 ➤ Carbon rod electrode : Suitable for general water
-
Types 2 ➤ 4 rings : measurement for very dirty water or there are suspensions in the water
-
Types 3 ➤ Pt glass electrode : measurements for clean water or low conductivity water that conventional sensors can not measure
